About Me

About me sections can be hard to write. What do people want to know? Who you are? Where you're from? Is it really enough to say, "Hi, I'm Valerie, from an Island on the West Coast"? -- Probably not.

Maybe people want to know more about you, like your interests, quirks and fears... So something more like... "Hi, I'm Valerie. I like to sing, shop, write, do crossword puzzles, have coffee with friends & I am slightly (majorly) afraid of horses."

Nah, doesn't seem quite right, either!

In the end, I think that personal writings, like blogs, are just places for us to connect with someone, or something, for the time we are there. A place to maybe dig a little deeper,  laugh a little harder, learn something...connect in a way, with the person writing. So...how about this...

Hi. I'm Valerie. I'm a singer and a lover of life. I have a big laugh and love to talk. I'm also mom to one lovely boy and wife to the funniest man I've ever met. We homeschool our son here on the West Coast of Canada, which some days feels like a huge undertaking and some days feels like the easiest breeze in the world.

Since before I could do much else, I've been doing two things; singing and loving Jesus. From solos in church as a little girl and singing in the Kids Choir to teaching voice in my home studio and recording albums in Nashville; it's felt like I have sang my way through most of my life.

The other, life-giving, constant in my life is: Jesus.

It would be a great shame to talk at all "about me" and not mention the One who has carried me the whole way through. Every breath and every good thing in my life comes from my Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. (You'll hear me talk about Him a little more if you hang around here!)

So...that's a bit "about me". The stuff from above is true too, I love to go shopping, have a good coffee date with a friend and am super weirdly afraid of horses. Stick around here to laugh a little, hear some music and hopefully, leave with your heart encouraged.

Bye for now!

     Love from,
